Nick's (mini) room makeover surprise

On Thursday I took a half day to get some things done at my house... and then when I was done, I couldn't stop... so Nick's room got some love. He has been talking about wanting some hanging shelves in his room, so I went to Salvation Army and got lucky -- $20 for a huge black wooden hanging shelf, and an ornate decorative piece for $10. Then, I went to Lowe's and got two cans of black spray paint for $6.

And here's what a little bit of picking up, reorganizing and a can of paint can accomplish in 4 hours (not including drying time for the paint):
